Los dos gavilanes (The Two Sparrowhawks) is a humorous song which comes from an area of the Venezuelan plains known for how hast their people talk. It depicts a discussion between two birds with a tongue twister section sung in 2/4, while the drum continues to play in a 5/8 pattern, creating a very interesting polyrhythmic texture. A pronunciation CD is available for $4.50.
