Description
This Missa Brevis in tempore violentiae (SSSAAA) by Ron Jeffers (1995) is part of the St. Mary’s College Choral Series edited by Nancy Menk. This octavo contains both the Kyrie and the Gloria. The Kyrie is a cry for mercy with a different dynamic and sharp dissonances in contrast to many other settings of this ancient text. The more joyful and exuberant Gloria offers a contrasting tempo, texture, and character to the Kyrie.
