At least eleven songs from Margaret Lang's Nonsense Rhymes and Pictures, Op. 42 (1905) and More Nonsense Rhymes and Pictures, Op. 43 (1907) were later transcribed into partsongs for female, male, or mixed voices. Both of these collections were built entirely on the wit of Edward Lear (1812-1888), creator of the limerick. This edition offers a pair of these delightful miniatures: The Old Person of Skye and The Old Man in a Tree.
