Description
This piece is the second of Grau’s Magnificat pieces. It can be performed as a separate piece or combined with other pieces from the set. The three verses used in this setting (Luke 1:51-53) are those which reveal the power and might of the Lord and His divine justice. The intense, dramatic nature of the words permeate the setting, which alternates from very dramatic sections to more lyrical ones, following the meaning of the verses, though not always their structure.
