Description
Korali is a setting of a text by the famous 12th century Georgian poet Shota Rustaveli. To the Georgians, Rustaveli is their Shakespeare and Chaucer all rolled into one.
Niko Sulkhanishvili (1871-1919) is one of the most important early figures in Georgian classical music. While largely self-taught as a musician, he was a groundbreaking figure in combining elements of Georgian folk music with Western-influenced compositional style.
