Description
German poet Eduard Morike (1804-1875) created the poem “Seufzer” in 1832 and it was immediately set to music in an extremely conventional way by his brother Karl. This is a re-setting of that poem recreated by Tobias Hiller. The text, in part reads: Kind Jesus, In whose flame I hope to burn and to Love you: why haven’t I burned?
A full recording of this piece can be found on CD-07: One World, Many Voices – Volume 5.
