Description
Kresnice are groups of four girls who sing in overlapping pairs, where each pair begins the next verse before the previous pair has finished singing its verse. According to the local expression, they are “chasing each other.” They sing from house to house, wishing happiness and an abundant harvest to the dwellers. Typically sung about Midsummer’s Day.
