Description

This song by Sergio Ortega comes from Chile during the brief time when Salvador Allende was its elected President, before he was overthrown and assassinated in a coup d'etat.  El Pueblo Unido has come to be widely known and sung throughout Latin America.  It was sung at the victory celebration of Ricardo Lagos, the newly-elected President of Chile and the first Socialist to be elected to that office since Allende.
