The Kyrie is one of the fourteen movements from St. Francis in the Americas: A Caribbean Mass (1997) - a concert Mass which sets several of St. Francis' writings into languages and musical styles of the New World, combining choir and soloists with various percussion instruments from Latin American traditions, especially the steel drum - an instrument which was invented on the island of Trinidad in the mid 20th century.  This instrument's versatility continues to grow with every new musical style it encounters.  The accompaniment in this edition consists of the lead pan part, a piano reduction of the steel band parts, and drum set.  Parts are available for purchase separately.  earthsongs publishes only the Kyrie and the Agnus Dei from the Mass.  The rest of the Mass is available for rental from McClure Productions.

A full recording of this piece (satb version, S-135) is found on CD-05.  Also available for ssaa, see S-165.
