This composition for mixed choir and soloist was written for the Inner Mongolian Youth Chorus Troupe and was completed in December, 1992. It uses the mirage - a traditional symbol - to represent the composer's reflection on the past and present of his nation. The composer hopes to convey the idea that if humankind does not take care of the environment, what we have now may disappear just as the mirage disappears.
The editors of this edition, Yalungerile and Almaz Han, have provided a transliteration of the text which is most like the way it would be spoken in Inner Mongolia. A pronunciation CD is available for $4.50. A full recording of the piece is available on CD-02. See also S-92 Dorven Dalai and S-93 Naiman Sharag.
