Para Paneirar (1966) is a very brief, succinct setting of a text which refers to some activities of the rural areas of Brazil (the husking and sifting of the corn). However, there are no musicial references to folk or country music in the work. Instead, the harmonic structure of the piece shows the influence of Brazilian urban music and jazz on Scliar's compositional style.
