The basic edition of This We Know with English, German, French, and Spanish translations was prepared for the First World Symposium on Choral Music held in Vienna in August, 1987.  It is dedicated to the IFCM and to the abiding wisdom and spirit of Chief Seattle.

The piece is also available in many different languages, shown in this edition.  Alternate languages include: Finnish, Hebrew, Hungarian, Irish, Japanese, Polish, Russian, Swedish, and Wolof.

And finally, as Black Elk says in his book The Sacred Pipe, it is hoped that this piece "will help in bringing peace upon the earth, not only among humankind, but within each person and between the whole of creation."
