This arrangement is an unabashed celebration of the fact that spirituals often include cloaked references to the Underground Railroad.  Here, the reference are no veiled at all.

The ending, printed in six parts, is simplet than it looks, as it is a double canon.  Teach the melodic material in two parts, then split it after it has been mastered.  It can also be reduced to 3 or 4 parts if necessary.  Instructions for this ossia ending are notated in the score.  This piece is recorded on CD-08.
