This piece is no. 2 of Indian Singing, a setting of poems from Native American poet Gail Tremblay's Indian Singing in 20th Century America.  (See also no. 1 In Dreams and no. 3 Dark Nights.)  The pieces, written for SSAA, drum, and narrator, may be sung separately or as the complete set of three.  A recording is available on CD-04.
